No Internet = XboX

Whenever the Internet goes offline, even if its like for a few seconds or even a few minutes I get really worried and or irritated. Last Saturday we have a minor storm here and lighting hit near by where we live. So that evening I went back online to find that my Internet was knocked off. We called in to our 24/7 support and they gave us an automated message that cause of the storm and something that happened during the storm messed something up. Actually made me feel better that they let us know what was wrong then to just sit back and wonder. So with no Internet being at home on a weekend can be really boring I would think. Though it actually turned out to be a great weekend. My and my girlfriend just sat back and played halo 2 for 2 days straight till be finished up the game. I had the game for an awhile and it was just sitting there for so long so was really glad we up and finished that. Never thought it be fun to play a video game with a girl and let alone a girlfriend but I was wrong. Looking forward for next weekend and see what game we can finish then.

phpFoX Portal v1.1 Beta 1 Released!

Version 1.1 Beta 1 has now been released for clients to download. Below you will find some answers to some common questions that might come up. Please look them over before you install this new version.

This new version is only available for a fresh install so you won’t be able to upgrade your software at the moment because of all the major changes done to the script. Its best to test the beta version live first. So simply install the script on your site in a folder or sub-domain and guide your members there to test the script and ask them to report any bugs to you. Which you can then report any bugs in the proper bug forum. Once Beta 2 is released and the first wave of issues are resolved we will then release a upgrade version from v1.0.9.

This version is not supported by our staff so all tickets will be directed to the forum bug tracker. The final beta release will be out once all bugs are removed to make sure this version is fully stable.

Konsort - New Logo and Design

With Konsort under way we took some time to look into a new look for the project and first step was the logo design. We went with 39designs to create a new logo for us.

Our current top pick

Konsort Logo
Think the new colors are nice and giving it a modern look. With the new logo will come a new layout for our main site at phpfox.com and a new layout for the actual software.

Looking forward for the new layout design as we are looking to keep up with the Web 2.0 craze.

Wanna thank Brendan for helping us with finding Kris the head designer at 39designs as his work is just amazing!

Some other logos we had the option to select from you can find here.

phpFoX Ecom Begins

Development begins for the new phpFoX Ecom script.

Ecom is a online licensing and membership system where it will give the power to developers to sell their software and have a powerful licensing system behind it to keep them organized and for their clients to have a place to keep track of their purchase and license information.

Some of the key features will be the usage of the zend encoder, IonCube or Source Guardian if you plan to encode your software as well as full support for such payment gateways like 2checkout, Paypal and E-Gold to mention a few.

Archiving of your software can be done in .zip, .tar or .tar.gz on demand and downloaded on the fly by your clients.

Source code will be fully documented and built in modules to create an easy environment for developers to edit or add on new modules. Script will be built in an OOP environment.

The layout and design will all be done in valid Xhtml and CSS using the SMARTY template system.

Thes are just some of the plans with this software but have lots more in mind. This will also take over the current membership/licensing system being used at phpfox.com so will have them as the first client
