I spend most of my free time watching DVD’s these days, its gives me such a relief after a days work. Though I was browsing around internet last night and from time to time I check out youtube for some funny videos. I then stumbled into the video below called “Man Dancing”. Thought it was a very original piece and fun to have done for them. Gave me a great laugh and still does everytime I check out this dude dance. I thought his funniest dance move was when they were in Tanzania and had the giraffe running away in the background.

Here is a little tool I think will be really handy for a lot of clients. Lev came up with this idea the other night while talking to a client but hes off for the weekend so I wanted to get my hands dirty and create this little tool till he gets back in.

What this does is give you as the admin of your site the oppurtunuity to create a new page on your site without the hassle of opening a PHP file or create a template file and to well understand how it all works. This little editor can be integrated into your admin panel and you can simply create a new page using a WYSIWYG editor so you won’t even have to know HTML. Course if you want to use HTML you can. Plus the script also allows you to use variables from the phpFoX script. So anything that starts with $VAR or $phpfox_config will be replaced on the page.

Here is an example of how it will look.

Mind you this is just a simple page and with HTML you can do anything. Notice the variables replaced the site name and the phpFoX version our demo site is running. Also you will find the URLS of these pages have SEO in mind and you will have a HTML title tag for each page to make sure search bots pick them up.

In the admin panel you can add 2 links which will connect you to this tool. Here is a screenshot.

Next unzip and upload the folder view your site. Then run for example: http://www.yoursite.com/view/install.php

Once you have installed the database open the file /adminpanel/html/menu.php and then look for:

2 weeks of not having the Internet was a real bust. Took my ISP a while to find out what was wrong so they finally just sent me a new modem a Walla I was back online. Wish they had done that earlier.

Well during my little downtime where I could not get online and check up on issues with phpFoX I saw a commercial on T.V. here for a phone that can get on MSN. So course I though I should get one of those that could get online. I actually didn’t know normal phones in this day and ago could do that and actually thought if they could they would be very pricey. So I went to 3G which is a well known phone service provider (least I think they are) and found out that you could go online with their network and actually with any of their phones. Though the course said in their lineup the Nokia E61 would be my best friend. It sure was. I was able to surf the net and well do anything I would usually do on the net with the phone. The best part was I could connect my normal PC to the Internet with the phone so I would not have to check out sites in the small screen or type with those tiny little keys.

So thanks 3G and Nokia for this great little toy and for letting me get online so I can do my job.

With the great growth of phpFoX and the phpFoX Portal we are proud to announce the new project - phpFoX Konsort

Konsort will take over the current versions released for the Portal. The release version for Konsort will be version 2 in the current history logs for the Portal.

PhpFoX on the 31st of July will turn 1 year young and with the fast growth with just 1 year in the market has brought us to the stage where our development team will bringing us Konsort which will be in a whole different level than the phpFoX Portal. During this short year we have learned what are our strengths and our weaknesses so this puts us in a great position, as we know what we would like to improve and bring in with Konsort.

As the best way to improve with the new software is to have it rebuilt from the ground up as are developers know this is the best way to improve our current software. Not to worry for all those running any version of the phpFoX Portal as you will be able to upgrade to Konsort with no issues. From the outside and from your members point of view it will still look and function the same so you won?t have to worry about major cosmetic changes as most are already comfortable with the layout and how the system works. All the main work will be in the actual source code to make sure things function better and faster once your sites grows in the future.

Konsort will be split up into 2 phases till it hits its release of version 2. It will have Phase 1 and Phase 2. Below I have listed some important pointers on what will be completed during those 2 phases.

Phase 1 (Version 1.5)

• Recoding of all modules available using object oriented PHP framework.
• Optimizing application spend and security.

Phase 2 (Version 2)

Release Dates:
ETA for Phase 1 will be on October 6. Once our developers have released it we will be looking over the software and giving out beta downloads to a certain few before it is released. So the ETA for Phase 1 (v1.5) will be released on October 15. For the released date of Phase 2 (v2) there is not set date yet as this will come once our developers are deep into Phase 1. We should know the ETA for Phase 2 early in August.

With all issues fixed that were reported from the Beta 1 verison, this new update looks strong and soon ready to be released as the new v1.1 Stable.

This new version is available for a fresh install or upgrade from past versions such as v1.0.9 or v1.1 Beta 1.

This version is still not supported by our staff so all tickets will be directed to the forum bug tracker. The final beta release will be out once all bugs are removed to make sure this version is fully stable.
