Halo 3 Beta

Was able to test Halo 3 Beta a few days ago. There was some problems at first for those that got the Beta via the game Crackdown, but once those issues were resolved it was a nice experience being able to play the beta version. I wasn’t to impressed with the general graphics, the only parts that did look like they put some more effort into was the 3D water effects and footprints in the snow was a nice touch to the game. The actual characters where much like Halo 2 and most of the game looked as if I was playing Halo 2 in high resolution. The online game play ran flawless for me. I did hear from others that they hit a lot of lag but I was not affected by this. I liked the idea that you were able to record your entire game play when a round was over but was disappointed that you were not able to place it on the net. We are only able to share it with our friends. I haven’t played it enough to give it a thumbs up or down just yet but will try it a few more times over the next few days.

COD3 Each system in the past I have got there has always been a game that in a way forced me to get a gaming console. When it was Nintendo I got it for Mario Bros., for Genesis I got that because of Sonic, for Xbox I waited till I got my hands on Halo. For the Xbox 360 it took me some time to get this console because I really didn’t find any games that tickled my pickle. That is till COD3 came out. I live in Europe and games always seem to come out a few months later here then it does in the U.S. or Japan, which is kinda annoying cause I’m sure the 360 has a lot of great games but it just wasn’t all out here. When COD3 came out I was very excited. I am a big “shoot em up” fan, and loved the past COD games. Actually I’ve played every WW2 game out there as I am such a big fan of games that take place in that time frame. I do enjoy shooters that take place in this day and age, even the future. Counter Strike was maybe the biggest shooter I played for a long time.

When starting a new game I usually like to sit for a while and beat the game inside out before I go and play online. This game online was just way to amazing not to continue playing it. I’ve had the game now for over a week and I’m still on the 3rd level because of how much I have been spending playing it online. Unlike past releases of COD online gaming, I have not played on a server that has had any lag. Each match I’ve played has been lag free. What I love about this game and dislike about games like CS is that after we die for example in COD3 we re-spawn after a few seconds. It’s non-stop action. Medics can now heal their teammates and get bonus points for that, which is just a great idea. I also like that snipers and support can call in air strikes to bombard a certain area, handy to fight of tanks. In most games I usually don’t like sniping and sitting around waiting for someone to come into my scope. I like taking a machine gun and getting into the action. Though with COD3 65% of the time I am a sniper. Depends on the actual level but a few levels that I like are optimal for sniping which makes it loads of fun, plus being handy with the pistol still gives me a change to fight in the front line. Though I still do enjoy running in with that machine gun and getting into the fight.

This game on the 360 is just amazing. The graphics are remarkable. I actually don’t like playing “shoot em up” games on consoles because I feel I am much faster with the mouse and keyboard, but thus far I have had no problems and I actually prefer playing this shooter on the 360.

No Internet = XboX

Whenever the Internet goes offline, even if its like for a few seconds or even a few minutes I get really worried and or irritated. Last Saturday we have a minor storm here and lighting hit near by where we live. So that evening I went back online to find that my Internet was knocked off. We called in to our 24/7 support and they gave us an automated message that cause of the storm and something that happened during the storm messed something up. Actually made me feel better that they let us know what was wrong then to just sit back and wonder. So with no Internet being at home on a weekend can be really boring I would think. Though it actually turned out to be a great weekend. My and my girlfriend just sat back and played halo 2 for 2 days straight till be finished up the game. I had the game for an awhile and it was just sitting there for so long so was really glad we up and finished that. Never thought it be fun to play a video game with a girl and let alone a girlfriend but I was wrong. Looking forward for next weekend and see what game we can finish then.
